Invasive Plant Pulling Day: May 18

Posted:
Thursday, May 10, 2018 - 12:45

RRUSA's Student Sustainability Committee has partnered with the Greater Victoria Green Team to host an invasive plant pulling day on campus, Friday, May 18. Any interested volunteers are welcomed to join to support healthy plant diversity on campus.

Invasive plant species (plant species not native to BC) on the Royal Roads campus are of concern because they pose a threat to native ecosystems and species that inhabit this site and removal of these invasive species is essential to the university's stewardship responsibilities.

Volunteers will get hands-on experience and education about proper removal and disposal of invasive plant species at Royal Roads. You will also be rewarded with pizza and refreshments!

Details of the event are as follows:

Date: Friday, May 18, 2018
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Meet at P4 Parking lot

Contact: RRUSA Student Sustainability Committee or Office of Sustainability
