Mary-Anne Neal, School of Education and Technology associate faculty member, has once again collaborated with the Sahtu Dene people in the Northwest Territories to publish volume two of the Dene Heroes series. The stories in the book reflect the quiet courage and dignity of the Dene, whose remote communities are accessible only by air. The Dene still live close to the land. Dene cultural and spiritual traditions are foundational for the strength and vitality of their society; their strong sense of responsibility to friends, family and community can be seen in their words and pictures.
In mid-January, the books will be distributed to contributors and community members at joyful celebrations in Fort Good Hope and Colville Lake.
